Northampton – India’s Under‑19 team registered a confident four-wicket victory over England Under‑19 in the third Youth ODI of the five-match series, in a rain-shortened encounter limited to 40 overs per side.

England U‑19 (268/6 in 40 overs):

Batting first, England posted a competitive total of 268 for 6. Skipper Thomas Rew led the charge with a blistering 76 off 44 deliveries. He was well supported by Ben Dawkins, who scored a composed 62, and Isaac Mohammed, who added 41 in the middle order.

India U‑19 (274/6 in 34.3 overs):

In response, India pulled off a clinical chase with Vaibhav Suryavanshi stealing the spotlight. He hammered 86 off just 31 balls, smashing six fours and nine sixes at a strike rate close to 277. His onslaught set the tone for the successful chase. Vihaan Malhotra contributed 46 off 34 balls, while Kanishk Chouhan remained unbeaten on 43 to guide the team home in 34.3 overs.

Rain Impact:

The match, originally scheduled for a full 50 overs, was reduced to 40 overs per side due to rain. Despite the weather interruptions, both sides made the most of the conditions, producing an entertaining high-scoring contest.

Bowling Highlights:

Kanishk Chouhan was effective with the ball too, picking up 3 for 30 and playing a key role in restricting England’s total in the middle overs.

Series Outlook

India now lead the five-match ODI series 2–1. The fourth Youth ODI is scheduled for July 5 in Worcester. England will be looking to regroup and level the series, while India will aim to seal it with another all-round performance.

With explosive batting from Suryavanshi and disciplined bowling from Chouhan, India U‑19 have gained vital momentum. As the series nears its climax, both teams will look to fine-tune their combinations ahead of the upcoming Youth Test series.
